Michelle Monaghan recently met up with Tom Cruise, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III director J.J. Abrams and producer Paula Wagner.
She saw the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III members at an event honoring Cruise for an honorary Oscar.
“I said thank you to [Tom] for the impact that he’s not only had on this industry as a whole, but also on so many individual careers, most certainly mine. He’s such a champion and cheerleader for everyone,” Monaghan told The Hollywood Reporter. “He’s completely incomparable.”
“So for him to be honored — and to see that kind of recognition go to somebody who’s so deeply deserving of it — it was really heartwarming for everybody within the industry,” she shared.
She says her experience in the MISSION movies was “extraordinary,” and she looks up to Cruise and the actors she’s worked with.

“One of my first days was the opening scene with Philip Seymour Hoffman and Tom and it was as intense as it looked. Philip was such a tremendous actor and such a talent, we were fortunate to be graced with him,” she said previously.
“I’ve been so blessed to work with so many talented people, and he’s definitely someone who I look up to and I enjoy getting to work with every time we hit the screen together,” she said.
She holds the franchise near and dear to her heart.
“The opportunities to be able to work with and befriend the people that have come in and out of that franchise have been so special,” the actress said. “It’s informed so much of my career over the years. Rebecca [Ferguson] is someone who I will have a long-lasting friendship with, and I respect her to the moon and back.”
There’s a secret about MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT. Ferguson whispers something to Monaghan’s character at the end, but no one knows what.
“I will never tell! And I don’t think she’ll ever tell,” Monaghan laughed. “That was our little secret.”
Aaron Paul played Monaghan’s brother in MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III and then played her husband on THE PATH.
“He’s one of my best friends, and I adore him, dearly, as a brother, husband and friend,” Monaghan said. “Boy, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III was so long ago [2006]. What’s funny is I didn’t even put two and two together at the time.”
“I got cast in THE PATH [in 2015], and I remember being on the phone with Aaron, going, ‘Come on, let’s do this together. This would be so amazing.’ It was then so exciting when he signed up.”
They shared some jokes over that, and Monaghan would love to work with him on set again.
“He’s beyond talented. I respect him so much as an artist, and he’s just a really terrific human,” she gushed.
Monaghan’s next project is an untitled hockey drama that is currently filming in Vancouver. The release date hasn’t been revealed yet.
