Christian artist Natalie Grant’s impressive national anthem performance kicked off the 2023 football season and has gone viral online.
“Three of my very favorite things: this country, our anthem and football,” Grant said before her performance at the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Detroit Lions game. “Football marks my favorite time of the year, so I’m very grateful to the Chiefs organization for inviting me and excited to be a part of the NFL’s season kickoff!”
Grant gave a powerful performance at the game, which got football fans buzzing online.
“Christian music legend Natalie Grant with a resounding rendition of the national anthem,” PJ Green, a sports reporter for Fox4 News Kansas City, tweeted.
Another fan wrote, “That was the best national anthem I’ve heard in years. Holy cow Natalie Grant.”
Grant is no stranger to singing at football games. She was previously asked to sing the national anthem at 2022’s College Football Playoff National Championship.
In a Facebook post about the experience, the singer called it “a thrill,” adding that she was “beyond grateful for the opportunity.”
The Grammy-nominated singer also wowed audiences with her performance of the national anthem at the first Republican presidential debate. Movieguide® reported:
Christian artist Natalie Grant cited her patriotism as the reason why she performed the national anthem at the first Republican presidential debate last week.
“I’m patriotic. I like to keep politics to those who know how to do that best,” Grant told Fox News. “I love my country, I love my anthem, and it’s just an honor.”
She pointed out that she has also performed at Democratic Party events.
“This isn’t about endorsing a candidate or a party,” Grant said in an interview with The Christian Beat. “I simply love this country, and I love what our anthem represents.”
