Nate Bargatze Jokes With Jimmy Fallon About Touring With Dad
By Movieguide® Contributor
On a recent episode of THE TONIGHT SHOW, Jimmy Fallon and clean comedian Nate Bargatze had a lot to laugh about.
“How is your dad doing? I know he’s been opening up for some of your shows,” Fallon asked Bargatze.
“…I mean, he’s been great. You know, it’s every little boy’s dream, travel with your dad when you’re 44 years old,” Bargatze joked. “I got a tour bus with a CPAP machine hooked up, so it’s pretty good times.”
A comic for more than 20 years, Bargatze has skillfully developed his own style of story and joketelling—a style appropriate for all ages.
“I’m clean, don’t do sex jokes or drug jokes, so I’ve learned to work the opposite of what those folks are doing,” the comedian told Variety. “In New York or L.A., they might be laughing at you—and in the middle of the country, they’re laughing with you. Either way, they’re laughing.”
Bargatze told Fallon about his performance at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. He said, “By the way, that Bridgestone, I stole one of the chairs.”
“What do you mean you stole one?” Fallon asked.
“Because I have the record. So if I take one of the chairs home, no one can break that record,” the comedian replied.
After a bout of laughter, Fallon called him brilliant.
Movieguide® previously reported how “Bargatze had everyone in stitches when he explained why his Nashville Arena attendance record would never be broken”:
Bargatze broke the venue’s all-time attendance record during a comedy set earlier this year, selling out to 19,365 people. The previous record, set by country star Morgan Wallen, was 19,292 and had been set only a month before Bargatze broke it.
Wanting to keep the record for a much longer time, Bargatze stole a chair from the arena on his way out, lowering the space’s capacity.
“He cracked everybody up when he told us it was a sold-out crowd at Bridgestone Arena, and by taking a chair, nobody could ever break his record,” professional golfer Brandt Snedeker said at the 2023 Sneds & Friends Pro-Am golf tournament. “That’s pretty much what I expected out of him.”
Fallon asked Bargatze about his new comedic production company, Nateland Entertainment.
“Right now is THE SHOWCASE on Nateland Entertainment, YouTube,” Bargatze said.
Nateland promotes lesser-known comedians who create clean content.
Movieguide® reported, “The company’s debut project, THE SHOWCASE, highlights smaller comics rising through the entertainment ranks. The show’s roster includes Mandal, Donnie Sengstack, Mr. Derick, Jim Flannigan, Renard Hirsch, Alex Velluto, Mal Hall, Jen Fulwiler and Luca Ferro.”
Deadline reported his intent for the company: “The Nateland Company is committed to producing high-quality content that inspires and entertains while upholding values of respect, kindness, and inclusivity. With a focus on laughter, heartwarming stories, and relatable characters, we aim to foster meaningful connections and provide positive experiences that families can enjoy together,” Bargatze said.
Bargatze also released a comedic special, HELLO, WORLD, available on Prime Video.
