Actor and producer Nathan Fillion and his longtime producing partner, Michelle Chapman, launched a production company – Collission33 – and have booked a first-look deal with Lionsgate.
“I am incredibly excited about expanding my relationship with Lionsgate. eOne (which Lionsgate acquired in December) has been a tremendous partner with Michelle and me on THE ROOKIE and THE ROOKIE: FEDS,” Fillion told Deadline. “This partnership represents a remarkable opportunity to tell meaningful stories and create content that resonates with viewers across the globe.”
“We are committed to nurturing creativity and supporting emerging and established talent,” Chapman added. “Our goal is to amplify and champion artists’ voices in the industry, fostering an environment where groundbreaking ideas can thrive.”
Collission33 will be led by veteran producer Josh Levy, who has previously held positions at Far Field Productions, Boom Studios and The Jackal Group. His most previous work includes TRUE LIES and Disney+’s TURNER & HOOCH.
Fillion and Chapmans’ THE ROOKIE – which they executive produce – is heading into its sixth season this spring. The duo also executive produce the show’s spinoff, THE ROOKIE: FEDS. Fillion is also slated to appear in the James Gunn’s DCU as Guy Gardner, an iteration of the Green Lantern.
Lionsgate is excited to continue collaborating with Fillion, whose “career has been marked by outstanding performances in television, film, animation, and video games. Fillion brings a wealth of experience and creativity to the studio,” Lionsgate said.
THE ROOKIE represents one of many titles that Lionsgate acquired through its buyout of eOne from Hasbro Entertainment. Other popular franchises include GREY’S ANATOMY, CRIMINAL MINDS and THE WALKING DEAD.
“As we’ve conducted our integration planning, our analysis has reaffirmed our conviction that eOne will be a valuable and highly accretive addition to our business,” Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said last December. “We are pleased to welcome eOne’s talented group of employees to our Lionsgate family.”
