NATIONAL TREASURE Sequel, Disney+ Series in The Works

By Tess Farrand, Associate Content Editor

Two National Treasure projects, a feature movie and disney+ series, are in the works according to Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

“We’re certainly working on one [National Treasure] for streaming, and we’re working on one for the big screen,” producer Jerry Bruckheimer disney-plus-tv-series/">told Collider.

Bruckheimer disney-plus-tv-series/">added, “Hopefully, they’ll both come together, and we’ll bring you another National Treasure, but they’re both very active….The one for disney+ is a much younger cast. It’s the same concept, but a young cast. The one for theatrical would be the same cast.”

That means familiar faces like Nicolas Cage, Diane Kruger, Justin Bartha, and Jon Voight could grace the silver screen together again for National Treasure 3. Chris Bemner (BAD BOYS FOR LIFE) will write the screenplay.

National Treasure grossed over $300 million internationally while its sequel grossed nearly $460 million internationally.

Movieguide® gave National Treasure and National Treasure: BOOK OF SECRETS very moral and patriotic worldviews.

Bruckheimer’s past disney credits include: PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME, G-FORCE, GLORY ROAD, the PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN movies, and both National Treasure movies.
