Angel Studios has announced that THE SHIFT, the studio’s first original feature film, is releasing in theaters on December 1.

“THE SHIFT is a bold project that defies labels and is unlike anything in the market,” said Jeffrey Harmon, Chief Content Officer of Angel Studios. “Director Brock Heasley’s dedication, tenacity, and vision reminds me of our history at Angel. Eight years ago, he came up with a concept and made a short film for $500. Then, Brock joined up with our team, an incredible cast, and the Angel Guild to crowdfund and produce a one of a kind project.”

“The origin story of funding and producing THE SHIFT is as unique and compelling as the plot of the film itself. I believe many up and coming filmmakers will model their own careers after what Brock Heasley has accomplished with Angel Studios,” Harmon continued.

The movie, “a dystopian drama and sci-fi thriller,” follows Kevin Garner, who is offered wealth and power by a mysterious man known as The Benefactor. However, when Garner refuses The Benefactor, he is shifted into an alternate, totalitarian reality. He must fight his way through infinite realities as he works to return to the woman he loves.

THE SHIFT stars Neal McDonough (YELLOWSTONE), Sean Astin (LORD OF THE RINGS), Kristoffer Polaha (MAD MEN, WONDER WOMAN 1984), Liz Tabish (THE CHOSEN), Paras Patel (THE CHOSEN) and Rose Reid (FINDING YOU, SURPRISED BY OXFORD). It was written and directed by Brock Heasley.

The cast also features John Billingsley, Jason Marsden, Nolan North, Emily Rose and Jordan Walker Ross.

“The creative ethos at Angel fostered the opportunity to shape this unique blend of sci-fi, romance, and allegory,” said producer Ken Carpenter. “They gave us the runway to make a film that charts new territory.”

Angel Studios, the studio behind THE CHOSEN, has started filming their first original theatrical release, a Sci-Fi movie called THE SHIFT.

“[THE SHIFT is] a story about a guy’s harrowing journey through the multiverse back to what matters most to him, and the formidable adversary he battles at every turn,” writer and director Brock Heasley shared.

THE SHIFT will deal with life’s most significant questions through characters who follow biblical truth.
