A poll by online movie ticket retailer Fandango reveals the most anticipated movies that will be released this Fall.

The Fandango fan poll surveyed 2,000 participants about their excitement for this Fall’s movie lineup. Along with the top ten most anticipated movies for the Fall, the poll also revealed insights into the horror genre and uncovered the characters moviegoers are most excited to see.

THE MARVELS (Nov. 10) topped the list followed by THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS & SNAKES (Nov. 17) and THE EQUALIZER 3 (Sept. 1). Hercule Poirot’s return to the big screen in A HAUNTING IN VENICE (Sept. 15) rounded out the top five along with KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON (Oct. 20).

The bottom half of the list is largely made up of horror movies releasing in the lead-up to Halloween, including THE EXORCIST: BELIEVER (Oct. 6), SAW X (Sept. 29) and FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S (Oct. 27).

The character that moviegoers are most excited to see is Carol Danvers (THE MARVELS) along with Hercule Poirot (A HAUNTING IN VENICE) and Robert McCall (THE EQUALIZER 3).

As for the horror movie genre, “thriller” has the largest pull amongst audiences, with “psychological” and “paranormal” following behind.

While these upcoming movies are bound to be entertaining, Movieguide® encourages viewers to read our reviews before going to theaters.

By providing a Christian perspective on a movie’s messages, Movieguide®’s reviews help guide users’ discernment about a movie beyond simple entertainment value. Movieguide® offers a comprehensive look at a movie’s messaging, noting elements such as profanity, nudity, sex and violence, along with the worldview and themes that the movie promotes.

Acceptability is rated on a scale from +4 to -4.

A +4 means ” Biblical, usually Christian, worldview, with no questionable elements whatsoever,” while a -4 denotes “intentional blasphemy, evil, gross immorality, and/or worldview problems. (To be avoided).”

Movieguide® also rates a movie’s quality, looking at its production value and entertainment quality on a scale of one to four stars. However, a high-quality rated movie may not be acceptable due to its messages and worldview.

While Movieguide® believes it is important for any moviegoer to be wise about the movies they consume, it is essential for parents to understand the content that their children are consuming. With this in mind, every Movieguide® review makes a special note about the elements in the movie that could cause problems for children.
