Why Patricia Heaton Is Praying for Kanye West

By Tess Farrand, Associate Content Editor

CAROL’S SECOND ACT actress Patricia Heaton is praying for Kanye West because she believes people want to see him “fail” in his newfound Christian faith.

Heaton told the Christian Post:

“It’s very hard. I think when someone of his stature in the industry and someone who has his amount of fame makes that kind of proclamation, people then really watch and scrutinize everything he does to catch him falling down,” she said.

“I hope that he is able to handle that, because that’s what’s going to happen,” Heaton predicted.

“People want to see him fail at Christianity,” she said.

Heaton is an outspoken conservative Christian who often talks about her faith, like West.

West’s conversion is so dramatic that believers and non-believers alike have discussed if the change is genuine.

Since West is so public with his passion for Christ, Heaton’s prayer is certainly admirable.

Adam Tyson, West’s pastor, spoke about West’s radical conversion.

“[West said], ‘I was just under the weight of my sin, and I was being convicted that I was running from God, and I knew I needed to make things right, so I came to Christ — I came out of darkness and came into the light,’” Tyson said.

West’s new album, “Jesus Is King,” and an IMAX® movie with the same title released in late October 2019.
