Prime Video announced the voice actors lined up to star on its BAT-FAM TV show, spinning off from 2023’s MERRY LITTLE BATMAN.

“It’s an honor and a privilege. And that’s the beauty of the character. No two Batmans…are the same…but they’re ALL the same…” creator Jackson Murphy said after creating this iteration of the characters for MERRY LITTLE BATMAN. “He is enduring, like Dracula and Sherlock Holmes. There’s all these different iterations, but you can take him in all different directions. Maybe that’s part of what the allure is.”

The upcoming show moves away from the grittier tone recent shows and movies have taken, instead bringing a goofier mood that is much more approachable for younger audiences. The show looks to build on the success of the movie which followed a similar style, bringing back many of the actors from the flagship project.

Prime Video announced that Luke Wilson will return as Bruce Wayne, Yonas Kibrear as the voice of Damian Wayne, James Cromwell as the voice of Alfred Pennyworth, Haley Tju as Claire, London Hughes as Alicia Pennyworth, Michael Benyaer as Ra’s Al Ghul and Bobby Moynihan as Man-Bat.

Warner Bros. Animation and Prime Video have been excited to bring BAT-FAM to audiences, alongside BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER, so that fans of all ages have a show to enjoy.

“From the cinematic noir storytelling of BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER to the comedic adventures of MERRY LITTLE BATMAN and BAT-FAMILY, these new projects ensure that there will be an animated BATMAN story ready to excite fans of all ages,” said Sam Register, the president of Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios.

The show will hopefully help tide over Batman fans until the next live-action movie comes to theaters in October 2027.

“We start shooting [the film] in spring, probably around the end of April or beginning of May,” director Matt Reeves said earlier this month. “It’s been a long journey, but I am so incredibly excited. I’m really proud of the script me and Mattson [Tomlin] did, and we’ve started to share it with Robert [Pattison].”

The movie will look to build on the success of the DC Universe reboot, which began with the highly popular SUPERMAN. The movie kicked off the James Gunn-led revival of the DCU which is looking to prove that the superhero genre is not dead even though Marvel continues to struggle to pull an audience.

It is encouraging to see DC focus on creating family-friendly content, especially as it looks to refocus its content through its James Gunn universe.
