Raquel Welch Remembered as a Strong Christian

By Movieguide® Contributor

The Reformed and Presbyterian faith remembers Raquel Welch as a woman of serious faith.

She is remembered as having a deep faith, known for deep talks about theology, both historical and theoretical, embracing both with care.

Although she never forced faith on others, Welch fully embraced the Reformed and Presbyterian faith as described in the Westminster standards.

Welch also took great care in being a normal member of the church despite her superstar fame. She didn’t expect special attention and would make time to talk with other members.

Often advising churches and ministries on matters of business and practicality, Welch was able to share invaluable information she had gathered through her years.

Due to her popularity, Welch had difficulties trusting people, but she truly saw the church as a safe place; understanding it as the faith of her family, parents and ancestors and something deep and durable enough to support a difficult life.

Welch was a delightful woman who loved her children well and was a light in Hollywood.

Welch passed away on Feb. 15, 2023, after a brief illness.
