As religious interest rises in America, Fortune 500 companies have started to become more inclusive towards those with faith, according to a new study from the Religious Freedom and Business Foundation.
“No one wants the Palantir guy to be high on acid for two weeks at Burning Man,” Katherine Boyle, a partner at Andreessen Horowitz, explained in April, per Vanity Fair. “[Investors] want hard workers. People who are like, ‘Learned that at West Point.’ We have Israelis who served in the IDF and are religious and conservative and super libertarian. And we’re like, ‘Yeah, that seems focused. We’ll take that.’”
This viewpoint extends beyond investors and found its way into the heart of corporate America as well, as the Religious Freedom and Business Foundation’s Faith-Friendly Workplace REDI Index found. On average, the Fortune 500 companies were more faith-friendly than ever, with 80% of the companies highlighting religion on their public websites.
Accenture was the most faith-friendly Fortune 500 company this year, followed by Equinix, Dell, Merck and Intuit. CMS Energy, Rolls-Royce, First Energy and Lexmark rounded out the top spots.
The explosion of faith in the workplace comes as America has experienced an overall religious revival in recent years. Across the nation, more and more people are becoming interested in faith — especially among the younger generation. College students, in particular, have led the way, with multiple campuses experiencing explosive growth in their religious population.
Ohio State University, for example, experienced a religious revival last year, led by the school’s National Title winning football team. As all eyes were on them, dozens of players continually pointed to God amidst their success and hosted events for students to engage with Christianity.
“Jesus changed my life, set me free from my sin, made me holy, made me righteous. I’m only righteous because of what the Lord has done for me. It wasn’t anything I did, it was Jesus. It was Jesus. And He wants to do the same for you,” running back TreVeyon Henderson told a crowd of 2,000 people in August.

While not entirely the cause, the uptick in faith content in Hollywood is certainly fueling this religious revival as the media people consume impacts their hearts and minds. Shows like THE CHOSEN and HOUSE OF DAVID are helping millions of viewers engage with the Bible in a new way and see Christianity as the solution to all of their problems and a refuge from the stress and anxiety we all face today.
As Christianity continues to become more popular in America, it is encouraging to see how it has begun infiltrating the walls of corporations, as Christianity begins shaping the practices of our world once again.
