New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson shared a new video on his Instagram page to encouraged him and his followers to “keep going.”
“I’m headed into work right now, just thinking about life and thinking about obstacles and challenges and things in your way. And, man, I just want to encourage you guys to keep going,” Wilson said in the video. “I’m encouraging myself to keep going. And, man, your best days are still ahead, and in the midst of the storm, we’re gonna get to the other side.”
“So I’m rooting for you today,” the quarterback added. “I’m rooting for myself. I’m encouraging myself and speaking life because God called me for something even greater. So I’m looking forward to forward to seeing what you do today. I’m looking forward to the day for myself. Keep smiling. Let’s go.”
Wilson also included a screenshot from the “Crazy Love Podcast.”
The words in the screenshot read, “We’re tired of people criticizing and feeling like we’re not amounting to much.”
Wilson’s post also featured Exodus 4:10-12, which reads, “Moses said to the LORD, ‘Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.’ The LORD said to him, ‘Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
Wilson added in the caption, “God created us for such a time like this! Overcomer! ‘Now Go! I will be with you.'”
So far, this season hasn’t gone how Wilson hoped. This is his first season in New York after being traded from Pittsburgh. Though he started for the Giants at the beginning of the year, he lost his starting role to rookie Jaxson Dart after just three games this season.
Despite losing his spot on the field, Wilson has become a mentor for Dart.
“I kind of see it as I have two big brothers in the room,” Dart told Sports Illustrated as he referred to Wilson and QB3 Jameis Winston. “Russ might reach a little bit of unc status a little bit, but they’re both my big brothers out there, and the wisdom they’ve offered to me has been huge. They’ve done it for a long time and succeeded at the highest level…we have a great relationship off the field too, so really just grateful and blessed to have those guys in the room.”
Wilson posted the clip on his Instagram story and wrote, “Young Nephew! Wait till u come to the Wilson & Winston Family Reunions.”
Wilson remains steadfast in his faith in God, knowing that no matter what, God still has a purpose for Him. The Giants are set to that on the San Fransisco 49ers this Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
