Dolly Parton lives a life of integrity and honoring God, even if others do not. Recently she partnered with pop singer Sabrina Carpenter and made her standards clear from the beginning.
In an interview with Knox News, Parton shared about their collaboration on Carpenter’s song “Please, Please, Please.”
“Of course, she can talk a little bad now and then,” Parton said of Carpenter. “I told her, I said, ‘Now, I don’t cuss. I don’t make fun of Jesus. I don’t talk bad about God, and I don’t say dirty words, on camera, but known to if I get mad enough.’”
The lyrics to the original song include a curse word, but Carpenter was willing to change the lyrics for Parton to eliminate the word. The duo added a country flare to the pop song.
“She was so sweet,” Parton said of the 25-year-old singer.
Carpenter is one of several collaborations Parton has done recently. Last year, the country legend teamed up with Christian singer Blessing Offor on a worship song called “Somebody’s Child.”
“We’re all ‘somebody’s child.’ It’s such a simple concept, but I hope it’s the beginning of us all realizing that there’s always a point of empathy, there’s always common ground if we want to find it,” Offor said about the song. “And there’s no better embodiment of finding common ground, finding relatability, than Dolly Parton. I’m so honored and humbled to have her on this project.”
Celebrities are not the only ones who have partnered with Parton. Recently Parton decided to make one mother, Demaree’s, dream come true, and the two teamed up for a duet of “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

“I am so thankful that God has seen me through some really difficult times and for every person he brought into my life to walk alongside me,” Demaree posted on Instagram. “This opportunity and song are a testament to God’s faithfulness. I hope it encourages your hearts and reminds you that you truly never walk alone!”
Parton has also recently collaborated with Zach Williams, baking company Duncan Hines and created a special jewelry line with Kendra Scott. It’s safe to say Parton loves working on partnerships that uplift and encourage others.
