Waiting to feel ready to have children? Sadie Robertson Huff and Jenny Marrs say it might not feel the way you expect.

“You don’t feel ready, in the sense of it’s still crazy,” Huff said during an episode of her “WHOA That’s Good” podcast. “It’s not going to feel, like, peaceful for you to feel ready, but you will have an internal peace that it’s time.”

Marrs agreed, saying that when it came to her own family, she “just had this sort of stirring.”

Huff posted a clip of the conversation to the podcast’s Instagram page, writing, “Sometimes faith doesn’t mean feeling fully prepared, it means being willing to step forward knowing God is the One who prepares you along the way.”

It’s a topic Marrs covers in her most recent book, Trust God, Love People.

“Through it all, I’ve learned that God is trustworthy even in the moments when I feel fearful, worn out, or dejected,” the HGTV star wrote in a statement about the book. “Trust God, Love People is a guiding principle in my life and serves as a reminder that steadfast trust in our faithful, loving God allows us to love others well. As we learn to take our next step in faith and love the people around us, we can walk confidently into adventures beyond our wildest expectations.”

In addition to writing, Marrs is still hard at work on FIXER TO FABULOUS, alongside husband Dave Marrs. The popular home renovation show is currently airing its seventh season.

“We’re pretty fortunate with our show that the variety of homes and family stories that we have is very, very different,” Dave told Better Homes & Gardens. “There are always different styles and then different stories and different ways that they want to use the space. So, our homeowners really help us, you know, they help us keep the creativity alive because they all have different needs.”

Marrs shared that she hopes viewers take away the idea that good and bad things can exist alongside each other.

“You can have really happy, wonderful things, and you can also have really hard things, and that’s life,” she explained. “Hopefully, people see all of it is connected by love and our love for our family and one another and the people that we work with and our community, and hopefully that shines through.”

Huff and Marrs’ words are a reminder to have faith in making the big decisions — even if you don’t feel totally prepared.
