Savannah Chrisley Reflects on Role as ‘Bonus Parent’: ‘Most Rewarding Job’

Savannah Chrisley took to Instagram to share the joys and hardships of being a “bonus parent” for her younger brother and niece.
“What my world spins around,” she began her Instagram post. “I’m not their mom. I’m not their dad. I’m their sister and I get to love and guide them through life.”
“Being a bonus parent is TOUGH…no one could ever add up to their parents. But these kiddos have shown me so much love, patience, grace, understanding, and appreciation!” Chrisley continued. “Helping to raise these two kiddos is the hardest but most rewarding job I will ever have.”
“I always said, ‘God meant for me to be a mama!’…little did I know, the journey would start a little sooner than expected! But luckily, I have had THE MOST AMAZING mama in the world to learn from! Because of her I can do this!” she shared.
Chrisley also offered encouragement to single parents.
“Single parent/income households…I SEE YOU! We do it solo. IT IS HARD! It can be so defeating! But I promise you…God will NOT give us more than we can bare! I SEE YOU! I BELIEVE IN YOU! YOU CAN DO THIS!”
“Chloe and Gray…YOU ARE MY LIFE! Thank you for letting me love you and thank you for loving me back,” she ended her post.
Chrisley took over as primary guardian for her brother and niece in November 2022 when their parents were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison for tax fraud.
Since November, Chrisely has been sharing her parenting adventure through her social media accounts, keeping fans updated on how her family is doing. She has also continued producing her podcast, “Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley.”
“I have time for everything I had time for before. I just have added two amazing angels in my life,” she shared in another post.

Hi there my Instagram family…it’s been a few weeks. Before you continue reading I would like to ask one thing of you…please be kind. This life is so cruel and we’re all doing the best we can. I will continue to stand by my family and fight for justice. Justice for ourselves and for others that the system has failed. (There is only so much I can comment on legally at this moment.)
Recently, I’ve felt let down by God, that my relentless prayers have been unheard. But I do believe that He will use every hardship and adversity we go through to strengthen us and prepare us for an even greater purpose. So I will continue believing in our Lord and Savior…I pray for strength, hope, and love. Thank you to all of those that continue to stand by our sides. This fight isn’t over.
