By Tess Farrand, Staff Writer
Scarlet Johansson made $40.5 million from June 2017 to June 2018 making her the highest paid actress of the calendar year, as Forbes reports.
Shortly behind Johansson, Angelina Jolie ranks second with $28 million, Jennifer Aniston third with $19.5 million, and then Reese Witherspoon with $16.5 million at number four.
The report from Forbes states, “Together, the world’s 10 highest paid actresses tallied a combined $186 million between June 1, 2017, and June 1, 2018, before fees and taxes. Earnings estimates are based on data from Nielsen, ComScore, Box Office Mojo, and IMDB, as well as interviews with industry insiders. All figures are pretax, and fees for agents, managers and lawyers are not deducted. Overall, the cumulative total is up 16% from $172.5 million in 2017.”
Johansson, most popular for her role as Black Widow in the AVENGERS franchise got her start in movies with the third HOME ALONE movie in 1997 and has gone non-stop since then.
Some of her previous credits include WE BOUGHT A ZOO and THE NANNY DIARIES. Johansson also lent her talents to voicing characters from Jon Favreau’s THE JUNGLE BOOK and Wes Anderson’s ISLE OF DOGS in recent years.
The most recent AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, which Johansson was a part, grossed $678,591,431.00 domestically. Currently, Johansson is set to star in the next AVENGERS movie that will release in 2019 and a standalone BLACK WIDOW movie is also in development.
At 33 years-old, Johansson currently lives in Paris, France with the daughter Rose. Please pray that Johansson and other highly paid celebrities would carefully choose projects that would uplift good values. It’s also important to keep in mind that many of these highly paid celebrities are also parents and entrepreneurs. Balancing it all can be a thin line.

Many young girls look up to these women as role models and representations of true success, but we know that true success comes from a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Pray that in their many blessings, they would seek a solid counsel and the Holy Spirit would put a desire in their hearts to know God, who is the author of their success.
