SESAME STREET fans will make a few new friends as Season 56 gets ready to debut on Netflix.
Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby joined the TODAY SHOW to reveal those special friends.
“Well, how about Miley Cyrus?” Abby said.
Nascar driver Bubba Wallace will also make an appearance.
“We had SESAME STREET races where we did a bunch of races with chicken teammates,” Cookie Monster said.
Elmo shared some things that he and his friends have been learning.

“We’re learning how to be kind and help our friends when they’re having a big feeling or having a problem,” he said.
“We learned that sometimes they want a hug, but sometimes they just want to sit and you sit with them so they feel seen and heard,” Abby added.
This is the first time SESAME STREET will stream on Netflix.
“Thank you for continuing to help children everywhere grow smarter, stronger, and kinder,” SESAME STREET shared in Instagram.
According to Netflix, Season 56 will “drop across three volumes — allow you to immerse yourself like never before with interactive, visually engaging 11-minute stories that put you at the center of the action. Along the way, young viewers will be exposed to heartwarming lessons about compassion, taking turns, cheering up a friend, and solving problems together. Also, many, many cookies.”

Per Netflix, Episode 1 of Season 56, “Elmo Runs The Race,” sees “The Sesame Street Races are about to begin! The winner will get a sparkly gold medal, but Elmo’s so excited he forgets to fuel up with healthy food.”
Episode 2 will feature Cookie Monster and a big puzzle.
“It’s Cookie Time…but Cookie Monster and Tamir can’t figure out why Elmo doesn’t want one! Abby helps Grover learn that doing puzzles takes patience,” Netflix wrote in the description.
Episode 3 focuses on Abby and her “magical besties,” while Episode 4 will follow Grover and his “super suitycase.”
Young fans can’t wait to catch their new SESAME STREET friends on Netflix!
