Stay ‘Engaged With God’ No Matter What. It Makes All the Difference.

Pastor Louie Giglio is encouraging people to “show up in faith,” even when they’re in a dry season.
“Somehow I think we got this mindset along the way that once we follow Jesus and put our trust in Him that life is just going to be this rollercoaster ride with God, and it is. It literally is a rollercoaster ride; sometimes it goes way up, and sometimes it goes way down,” he said while appearing on Sadie Robertson Huff’s “WHOA That’s Good” podcast.
He continued, “It really is a mindset of saying, ‘Okay, I’m not feeling it right now, but here’s the key — I’m going to keep showing up, even when I don’t feel it.’”
“Stay engaged with God,” Giglio encouraged listeners. “Tell him, ‘God, you know I’m in a dry season, you know I’m not feeling anything right now…I’m reading Your word, I’m showing up again today’…Eventually, you realize, ‘I’m not in the dry spell anymore and I’ve got the feels back.’”
Huff added, “The word is active and alive, so you never know when it’s going to come back alive in your heart at the time that you really need it and the conviction that you really need.”
The pair also talked about Giglio’s latest book, a devotional titled “Grace & Glory.”
The book helps readers “rekindle [their] relationship with the God of the universe,” per Giglio’s website. “He is the God of all grace, and He has called you to walk with Him into eternal glory, as a son or daughter of God.”
“Just a sentence can change your outlook on a whole day,” Giglio told Huff of devotionals. “It really is inspiring how powerful God’s word can be in a very small dose.”
Huff also recently released a devotional, titled “The Next Step.”
“This book is all about embracing the next step with faith and confidence — and trusting that God’s wisdom will guide you every step of the way,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “This is all about seeing God and inviting Him into your every step in life! I can’t wait for you to experience the truth and encouragement I’ve gathered from His Word and the beautiful wisdom I’ve received from so many amazing people in my life. My hope is that this book helps you navigate whatever step you’re on with peace and clarity as you lean into your relationship with God!”
