“Backstage at the @movieguide Awards. Such a fun night representing @thechosentvseries with friends and castmates. Feeling very grateful and I wanted to give a well-deserved shout-out to my glam squad for working their absolute magic on me,” Williams shared on Instagram.

Williams previously spoke about her time on THE CHOSEN and how her character inspired her own faith journey.

“Tamar has gone through so much. She suffered a tremendous loss. Her entire family was massacred at once, she lost them [all],” Williams said. “As a woman, once you are without a family, without a man leading some household, in the first century, you’re basically worthless. So I think about all of these things, and I admire her so much because despite all of that, she’s still found a way to start over again.”

“I can imagine [the heat] in Capernaum back in those days, and she’s out there picking flowers, and that’s where she makes her first encounter with Jesus was on that road. And not only did she start over at [the point her family died] to get to that place, but she started over again when she left all of that behind to follow Jesus,” she continued.

Patel shared why he believes the characters from THE CHOSEN are so relatable.

“What the show does so beautifully is that it gives you community but also hope in watching that you find yourself in it,” Patel told Movieguide®. “You never know what you need until you see it, right? You never know what you were seeking, and that’s what THE CHOSEN does, and that’s what it does to me specifically.”

“And it might not always be the outcome that you want to see, but you’re gonna see how to handle that,” he added. “I think with Matthew’s journey, you’ve seen that.”

The winners of the Movieguide® Awards will be announced on March 5 at on Great American Family.
