Former NFL Star Keeps on Rescuing Exploited Children

Tim Tebow is doing all he can to rescue sexually exploited children, and he isn’t stopping anytime soon.
The former NFL star shared about a new campaign whose goal is to rescue these children.
“For too long, child sexual exploitation has been hidden in the darkness of the internet. It’s an evil that has decimated the lives of so many children,” Tebow said in a statement.
The name of his campaign stems from one thing: there’s still much work to do.
“This year’s campaign is called unKNOWN and unFINISHED because while we are grateful for the last year of momentum, there are still hundreds of thousands of boys and girls in despair,” Tebow said of the campaign on World Day Against Trafficking. “This year, we’re asking for people to stand with us to continue this fight to reach, protect, and love every child who is waiting to be identified and rescued.”
Tebow shared some dark details about the horrific reality of human trafficking.
“Right now, law enforcement can see over 500,000 unique IP addresses around the world actively trading child sexual abuse material…images and videos of children under 12 being abused, raped and tortured,”
The good news is organizations like the Tim Tebow Foundation are working to save these helpless children.
“We agonized about what we are going to call this campaign. We settled on unKNOWN & unFINISHED. Nothing else really gave us peace. Some would say, ‘but won’t it always be unfinished?’ Yes, that’s probably true.”
Tebow continued, “There will always be abuse and exploitation until Jesus comes back. But we can keep fighting. In the Bible, at the end of John 13:1, we’re told that Jesus, ‘loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.’”
Tebow’s fight against trafficking is ongoing. Earlier this year, he spoke before Congress.
“Tim Tebow testified before Congress about why lawmakers need to fund a rescue team to combat child sexual abuse within our country,” Movieguide® reported. After learning there are over 60,000 unidentified victims of child sex trafficking, Tebow launched Operation Renewed Hope and 316 children were identified and rescued. “It was an incredible operation,” he said, “but that’s a tiny dent…It was amazing work, but it was so small in comparison.”
Tebow took his fight abroad in July. Movieguide® reported:
Tim and Demi Tebow are fighting child exploitation abroad.
Last week, the couple met in the Netherlands at Europol to collaborate with the organization to protect children.
“@demitebow and I were so grateful for the opportunity to visit Eurpol’s Headquarters in The Hague, where we got to meet with Danny van Althuis and the team at Europol’s prestigious AP Twins, and support their efforts alongside HSI and ICMEC,” Tim posted on Instagram.
“32 investigators from around the world gathered at Europol for a weeklong sprint operation to investigate producers and distributors of child sexual exploitation material through live-streaming platforms,” he explained. “Some of the abused children are believed to be as young as three to four years of age.”
