Titans Long Snapper Fulfills Greater Calling By Playing ‘Humble Position’

As a long snapper in the NFL, Morgan Cox doesn’t get a lot of attention, and that’s what he prefers.
The Tennessee Titans star is one of the most decorated long snappers in NFL history. He has won a Super Bowl and is a five-time All-Star and the first long snapper to be selected as all pro.
“The saying goes, ‘You know you’re doing your job well if nobody knows your name,'” the long snapper told THE 700 CLUB.
“I love it that way. I get to share the victories that my teammates have. Over the years, making kicks, making important kicks at the end of games, I know I played a part in it,” he added.
For Cox, though, entering the NFL was never about fame or fortune but rather about using his platform to share the love of Christ.
“I never wanted to be more than what I was,” he said. “I mean I knew the gifts that I had been given, of course, I would love to be more athletic, would love to be faster, would love to be stronger, and all that stuff, but when I look back on my journey, there’s no real explanation for this path I’ve been on. I got to be on this ride because I feel God’s hand.”
Cox sees his position the same way he looks at his life as a Christian.
“I look at the long snapping position as a way of playing a part even though it’s a small part, it’s an important part in the body of Christ, and we all play a part in the body of Christ no matter what your role is. A servant leader is something that Jesus talks about. Washing the feet of others, and I think my position is a humble position.”
