Legendary NFL QB Dishes on How He Really Feels About Retirement

By Movieguide® Contributor

Tom Brady is getting used to life off the field.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion retired from the NFL in 2023, but he’s still involved with the game through his new broadcasting gig with Fox Sports. While he’s grateful for the opportunity, nothing beats the rush of being on the field with his teammates and coaches.

“It’s been really fun to sit and watch these games from the 50-yard line,” Brady said on the “Let’s Go! Podcast.” “Although I’d much prefer to be on the field playing, because it’s a lot more fun down there, but I’m not doing that anymore. But just watching from above and seeing how these guys are performing is pretty cool.”

He is content with this new stage in life, though, as he told PEOPLE.

“For me, it was good to take some time off,” he said of his transition from football. “I had been on this treadmill going at a fast speed for a long time, and I loved it. I loved every minute of playing, and at the same time, when I retired, I really enjoyed that too.”

“Now, I’m back to work and I’m enjoying that, so I have no complaints,” he added. “Just like everybody else, I try to wake up and try to do my best for the people that matter the most to me. And when you commit to the people like I have in my broadcasting at Fox, I want to do a great job for them and my teammates there. So my life’s pretty full. I’m very happy.”

The people who matter most to Brady? His three kids: Jack, 17, Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11.
