Tom Holland Reflects on Early Acting Days Ahead of SPIDER-MAN 4 Filming

SPIDER-MAN star Tom Holland is reflecting on some of his early acting roles as he gets ready to don the superhero costume again.
Holland got his start in London’s West End, playing Billy Elliot in the musical of the same name.
One of the challenges he faced? Proper pronunciation.
“I remember my dad corrected me, saying, ‘No, son, it’s not spodded; it’s spotted,’” Holland laughed, adding that he would tell his younger self to “stick with it and keep having fun.”
Holland also recalled the first time he walked on a SPIDER-MAN set in the iconic costume.
“It was amazing,” he shared. “We had so much fun. I remember just laughing and laughing and laughing. And poor John [Watts, the movie’s director] it was like herding cats when we were all on set together.”
Holland added, “It was a good time. I’m grateful to those guys for coming and doing such a good job being part of it and sharing their experience with me.”
The actor recently confirmed that he’s preparing to begin work on SPIDER-MAN 4.
“It’s happening,” he said during a recent appearance on THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JIMMY FALLON. “Next summer we start shooting. Everything’s good to go. We’re nearly there. It’s super exciting. Yeah, I can’t wait.”
He shared a little more in a GOOD MORNING AMERICA interview, saying, “The idea is crazy. It’s a little different to anything we’ve done before, but I think the fans are gonna really respond to it.”
Holland revealed that he and girlfriend and SPIDER-MAN co-star Zendaya recently read the script together.
