Producer Tommee Profitt Praises Tauren Wells’ ‘O Holy Night’ Performance

Producer and pianist Tommee Profitt is bringing new versions of classic holiday songs to life with his latest project, THE BIRTH OF A KING: LIVE IN CONCERT.

“It’s the story of angels greeting this King who is being born to save the entire world,” Profitt told Fox News. “It’s a story so epic it needed this epic music to go along with it.”

THE BIRTH OF A KING originally began as an album.

“For 15 years, I had this dream in the back of my mind to create an epic Christmas album. Every year, I’d think about it, but there was just never enough time,” Profitt told V13 Media. “Then, 2020 happened, and with everyone stuck at home, I found the time I needed. As I was working on the original ‘The Birth Of A King’ album, I kept thinking, ‘This needs to be experienced live. People have to FEEL it, not just hear it.’”

Now, THE BIRTH OF A KING: LIVE IN CONCERT is available to stream online.

Two of the artists Profitt asked to take part in the special include Christian artists Tauren Wells and SVRCINA.

“When I first sat down to arrange ‘O Holy Night,’ I thought, ‘Man, there’s a ton of versions out there. How do we bring something fresh and unique?’” the producer wrote in an Instagram post. “Then it hit me… I’d never really heard it as a duet. Usually, the spotlight is on a single vocalist belting out that last ‘Divine’. So, why not a harmonized duet with both singers at the peak of their range, creating a beautiful and powerful new version with several key changes throughout?”

Profitt continued, “@taurenwells and @svrcinasongs were the 2 vocalists I had in mind from the beginning, so when they both said yes, I immediately knew how special this was gonna be! Their recorded performance was just unreal. The feedback for this song has been off the charts – it’s definitely one of the album’s heavy hitters. Their voices are incredible together. They absolutely nailed it, and it was something everybody was left in shock with what they had just witnessed.”

Producer and pianist Tommee Profitt brings the Nativity story to life through his “The Birth of a King” musical event.

“It’s the story of angels greeting this King who is being born to save the entire world,” Profitt told Fox News Digital. “It’s a story so epic it needed this epic music to go along with it.”

“The Birth of a King” celebrates Christ’s birth through powerful performances by 21 vocalists alongside a 60-piece orchestra, a 100-member choir and a band. The musical extravaganza includes performances from Colton Dixon, Jordan Smith, Evvie McKinney and Sarah Reeves.

“This is a performance I believe that Christians will love and maybe those who are not Christians will love,” Profitt said. “This is a powerful story. I’m hoping it connects with anyone who appreciates powerful storytelling.”
