Minnesota Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy and his fiancée, Katya Kuropas, just welcomed their little one to the world.

“Welcome to the world Rome Micah McCarthy ✨The sweetest, most perfect gift from God!! We are so unbelievably blessed to be your parents💙 8.7lbs 21in.” Kuropas shared with photos of their son on Instagram on Sept. 12.

“God is GREAT!” McCarthy commented.

“& so are you my love @katyakuropas” he wrote in a separate comment.

McCarthy got engaged to Kuropas in January 2024.

“To my love, Katya…you are my soulmate, best friend, and my rock. I am so blessed to be your partner now and forever. I am so excited to continue our journey together,” McCarthy shared in a social media post after his 2024 NFL draft.

“I couldn’t be more grateful for who you are and everything you do!” McCarthy wrote on Instagram of Kuropas in October 2024. “You make me the best version of myself and it has been a complete blessing to continually watch you grow into the amazing woman you are. I love you my queen!!!

The couple has been together for six years. They announced their pregnancy on May 21.

“The best surprises come when you least expect them. Our sweet baby boy is arriving in September and we couldn’t be happier🩵🍼” Kuropas said at the time.

McCarthy played in his second NFL game this year on Sunday. He sprained his ankle in the game and is out for one month—which gives him time to snuggle up with baby Rome.

Kuropas shared more photos of Rome on her Instagram story Thursday. “Time is already going way too fast I’m so emotional 😭,” she captioned his photos.

In another Instagram story, Kuropos shared a photo of McCarthy leaving the hospital holding a baby carrier.

“Dad mode,” she captioned it.

The Vikings shared a photo of McCarthy holding Rome on their social media. “Congratulations to J.J. McCarthy and his fiancée, Kataya, on the birth of their son, Rome,” the account said.

“Congratulations to my boy,” star wideout Justin Jefferson said after practice on Sept. 11. “I’m excited for him and this new chapter. But after you get done, come on back, we’ve got games to win.”

The 22-year-old was the No. 10 overall selection in the 2024 draft but missed the whole season due to a torn meniscus.

On Sept. 8, McCarthy helped his team win 27-24 against the Chicago Bears. He made three touchdowns in the final quarter.
