What Movie Trailers Will You See During Super Bowl LIX?

By Movieguide® Contributor

Super Bowl LIX is almost here, and companies are gearing up to push their products to football fans, including major movie studios.

So, what movie trailers will you see on Feb. 9 during the big game?

According to Deadline, Disney, Paramount and Universal are the only ones “willing to pony up $7.5 million-$8 million for a 30-second spot on Fox before an audience that last year reached 123.7 million viewers across live linear and streaming.”

Last year, DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE and WICKED launched during the Super Bowl and received outstanding box office numbers.

This year Disney, Paramount and Universal are hoping for the same outcome.

Universal will launch the trailer for JURASSIC WORLD REBIRTH (July 2), which stars Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali.

“…this action-packed new chapter sees an intrepid team racing to secure DNA samples from the three most colossal creatures across land, sea and air,” an official synopsis of the film reads. “Five years after the events of JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.”

The studio will likely also share a trailer for the live-action HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON (June 13).

Disney could show trailers for SNOW WHITE (March 21), LILO & STITCH (May 23) and ELIO (June 13). The entertainment giant will only air trailers for two of their three upcoming Marvel movies: CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD (February 14), THUNDERBOLTS (May 2) and FANTASTIC FOUR: THE FIRST STEPS (July 25).

Likewise, Paramount will air spots for Jack Quaid’s new thriller NOVACAINE (March 14), the new SMURFS animated musical (July 18) and Tom Cruise’s MISSION IMPOSSIBLE – FINAL RECKONING.

Other motion picture studios like Sony, Warner Bros., Amazon MGM and Lionsgate have all opted to sit out of this year’s Super Bowl.
