4 Faith-Filled NFL Stars to Watch in Super Bowl LIX
By Movieguide® Contributor
Faith is at the forefront for these NFL players and coaches taking to the field for Super Bowl LIX, which will see the Philadelphia Eagles face off against the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 9.
“First and foremost, everything good in our life comes from God,” Eagles head coach Nick Siranni told the media after the team’s NFC Championship win. “So, thank God for that.”
For Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, faith is his everything.
“I’ve just matured and realized that God is everything,” Hurts declared, “and He’s worthy of praise. You have to put Him at the center of everything that you do. That’s what I believe. All my spiritual wisdom — all of my wisdom as a whole — comes from Him, in some way, shape or form, whether that be passed down from my father, my mother, my grandmother. I just think, in all the things that we experience in life — good, bad or indifferent — you have to keep Him in the center.”

When Kansas City Chiefs tight end Noah Gray received a contract extension with the team, he praised God.
“I’m extremely grateful,” Gray explained. “I can’t thank God enough, I can’t thank Clark Hunt and the Hunt family enough, this organization, front office, coaches, teammates, just really everybody I’ve been fortunate enough to be in contact with these past three years [and] play with. It’s just an absolute blessing. Just super grateful that I’m back here for the foreseeable future.”
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, meanwhile, gave glory to God after his team beat the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Sunday night.
“I mean first off I want to give all glory to God without Him none of this is possible and I truly mean that,” Mahomes said. “I’m just so proud of my teammates, man, how they responded. That was a great football team, and I’m just lost for words.”
