BROOKFIELD: A WHEN HOPE CALLS STORY has an exciting cast mixed with new and familiar faces.
The show is set in 1916 in Brookfield, a settlement in Western Canada. Its characters include accomplished lawyers, mounties, ranchers and others.
Michael Fletcher
Mountie Michael Fletcher, played by Christopher Russell, is Brookfield’s new community leader and protector. He was Mountie Gabriel’s training instructor, and his reputation precedes him. Despite his accomplishments, he’s humble and caring.
Nora Anderson
Lawyer Nora Anderson, played by HEARTLAND’s Cindy Busby, comes into town on personal business with the headmistress of the local orphanage. As she begins to make some unexpected connections, she finds herself unable to leave the quaint settlement.
“Nora’s an orphan, so she’s looking for community. She’s left the big town to start anew, and then she connects with some family and realizes that she’s been missing something. Brookfield is the place where she creates these roots and, of course, keeps randomly running into Mountie Fletcher,” Busby recently told TV Insider of her character.
Hannah Lawrence
Dress designer Hannah Lawrence, played by Sarah Fisher, isn’t exactly a newcomer, but it’s the first time she’s stepped into town since her childhood, when she would visit her uncle’s ranch every year. After her uncle passes, she’s faced with hard choices about what to do with the property he left her.
“But will she or will she not fall back in love with the place she once called home?” Fisher says in a recent Instagram video.
Wyatt Parker
Wyatt Parker, played by Nick Bateman, was the foreman on Hannah’s uncle’s ranch. But now that her uncle has passed, he doesn’t know where that leaves him. As the ranch hands become uneasy, he and Hannah argue about what’s to be done with the ranch. Though he may be gruff on the outside, his strength and commitment are obvious.
