Sight & Sound’s 30th anniversary celebration of NOAH is “incredibly meaningful” for the family that first brought this show to life.

“This is one that feels incredibly special to us because NOAH is our flagship show in many ways,” Katie Miller, whose grandparents founded Sight & Sound Theatres, told Movieguide®.

Before NOAH, Sight & Sound mainly did “revue” shows, but Miller shared that her grandfather always loved the story of Noah’s Ark.

“I still remember being a kid on premiere night, standing in the theater, not even able to believe it myself,” she said of the spectacle of the live show. “And I think as a family that night, we all kind of gathered afterwards and had this moment of ‘This is what we’re called to do: bringing the Bible to life onstage.’”

Miller added, “And we’ve never looked back. We’ve been doing Bible stories ever since.”

“To have NOAH onstage thirty years later, have it resonate with audiences louder than ever, and now be able to take it into movie theaters is just incredibly, incredibly meaningful for us,” she concluded.

NOAH is now showing in theaters, giving audiences across the country the chance to experience a Sight & Sound production for themselves.

“Filmed in front of a live audience, this special event invites you to gather your crew two by two and join us onboard the ark for an unforgettable adventure,” an official description of the special event reads

The live, recorded version utilizes over a dozen cameras to cover the theater from every angle, both on stage and behind the curtains, giving audiences a front row seat to every moment of NOAH.

Matt Neff, Sight & Sound’s CEO, said in a statement, “Thirty years ago, when NOAH first premiered on the stage, our ministry was forever changed. This production broke all the rules of traditional theater and helped us discover our calling to bring the Bible to life on stage. We are grateful for the way it continues to inspire audiences today and thrilled to bring NOAH — Live! to moviegoers across the United States with our friends at Fathom.”

“We’ve had the honor of partnering with Fathom Entertainment on previous theatrical releases, but there’s something extra special about taking the production that started it all into movie theaters nationwide!” Miller added. “We look forward to this opportunity for audiences to come together and be reminded of how God’s faithful promises continue in our lives today.”

Catch NOAH in theaters from now until Sept. 24!
