Why THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER Means so Much to Dallas Jenkins

Director Dallas Jenkins recently shared why THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER means so much to him.

“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is warm and funny and one of my favorite stories I’ve ever come across,” Jenkins said.

Judy Greer who plays Grace in the movie said, “The whole movie is inspiring like a bigger picture story about welcoming the other.”

Co-producer of the film Katelyn Botsch said, “It’s another story where the church can come together and love people that they may not see as someone that looks like them or sounds like them. But it’s a story about the Christmas story being for every person no matter what they look like how they act who they are.”

Young actress Beatrice Schneider said of the film, “I think that ‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever’ is really about community and people being quick to judge other people because of things that you really shouldn’t judge people on.”

A scene from the film shows Greer telling one of the children, “Jesus was born for the herdsman just as much as he was for us, we’d be missing the point of all of it if I turned them away.”

Movieguide® previously reported on the upcoming movie, which is based off a children’s book:

THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER is a movie adaptation of the 1972 Barbara Robinson classic kids’ story by the same name. The movie follows the troublesome Herdman kids who get placed in the town’s Christmas pageant as a punishment. Though their crazy antics cause havoc throughout the play’s production, they ultimately lead the town to find the true meaning of Christmas. Jenkins has been pursuing this project for over 15 years and had his dream fulfilled in December when production began in Winnipeg.
