THE VOICE and AMERICAN IDOL alum Jeremy Rosado put his dream of working in the music industry on hold to be a good father and support his daughter.
“I made a promise to God right after [AMERICAN] IDOL, and, I don’t know, there was just a decision made to put down the dream, and I got a job at a church so that I could have health insurance for me and my kid and a salary,” Rosado explained. “And I love the local church, and I love leading worship. I always felt called to do this outside the four walls, but, at the same time, love motivated me. Love motivated me to put the dream down and provide for my kid, and man, God fathered me so that I could father her. And without His spirit, there’s just no way it would have been, man. And it is so nice, that’s what’s the in between looks like.”
Rosado’s daughter is actually his biological niece, he recently told the “Jesus Calling” podcast. “I was like 22 or 23 years old. She was about 11 years old, so it was tough,” he said.

The singer appeared on AMERICAN IDOL in 2012, placing in the top 13 of Season 11 before being eliminated. In 2022, he returned to the space as a competitor on THE VOICE. After his appearance on that show, Rosado signed a deal with Capitol Christian Music Group.
“Signing with Capitol is a dream come true!” Rosado said at the time. “It’s been a decade since I started pursuing this career, so many years of ups and downs, so to be here now feels unreal!”
Since joining the label, he has released numerous EPs along with a twelve song studio album, The Waiting Room. This album speaks to this waiting period in his life when he set aside his dreams for his daughter.
“The Waiting Room album is so special to me,” Rosado said. “I’ve worked for over two years crafting the songs on this record. I’ve seen incredible highs and some low lows, but through it all, my God has been faithful to me.”
“This album is for anyone who’s ever felt like they were in a waiting season, believing one day their name would be called and they would walk into the thing they felt called to,” he continued. “It’s not always easy in a waiting season, but on the other side, there’s freedom, purpose, healing, and, God willing, the thing they’d believed in. This album marks the end of a season for me, one of waiting for my name to be called.”
God certainly blessed Rosado’s commitment to trusting Him and allowed him to live out his dream as a part of the music industry and helping fans connect with Christ through his music.
