It’s official: Great American Family and Great American Faith & Living are now available on YouTube TV!

“With nearly 10 million subscribers, YouTube TV dramatically expands the reach of our positive, faith and family entertainment,” Bill Abbott, CEO of Great American Media, wrote in a letter to supporters. “This is a major milestone for us, but it’s also a moment that belongs to you. The encouragement you’ve given, the calls you’ve placed to YouTube TV, and the way you continue to support us every step of the way have all played a major part in making this possible. We will never forget the commitment you have shown, and continue to show, to us and our mission.”

He continued, “From the very beginning, and still today, you have been our partners in this journey. Thank you for believing in us, for standing with us, and for helping us build a home for the kind of entertainment families can trust and that reinforces the importance of faith and freedom in our culture. I am deeply grateful to each and every one of you.”

Abbott and GAM have been working towards this goal for a while now. Earlier this year, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr sent an open letter to the CEOs of Alphabet and Google calling them out for their exclusion of GAF on YouTube TV.

“I have received complaints that Google’s @YouTubeTV is discriminating against faith-based programming,” Carr posted on X. “These concerning allegations come at a time when American public discourse has experienced an unprecedented—and unacceptable—surge in censorship. I’m asking Google for answers.”

At the time, a spokesperson for YouTube stated, “We welcome the opportunity to brief the FCC on YouTube TV’s subscription service and the strategic business decisions we make based on factors like user demand, operational cost and financial terms, and to reiterate that we do not have any policies that prohibit religious content.”

This isn’t the only major development in the GAM world. Abbott recently signed a deal with  producer Robert Halmi and his Great Point Studios, aiming to develop “high-quality, original movies rooted in family values and created for audiences seeking inspiring and meaningful entertainment,” per a press release.

“This partnership is about raising the bar,” Abbott shared. “We are committed to producing content that not only entertains but uplifts. We want to produce these films right here in the U.S., with people who share our passion for authentic, values-driven storytelling.”

YouTube TV’s inclusion of Great American Family and Great American Faith & Living is a major win for GAM and other faith-based media outlets.
