What You Need To Know:

CARS ON THE ROAD: Season One is a series of nine 8-10 minute animated episodes streaming on Disney Plus. Mater and Lightning McQueen decide to drive together across country to attend the wedding of Mater’s estranged sister. Along the way, they encounter a dinosaur park, a spooky mansion transformed into an inn, a circus, three cars hunting for Bigfoot, a group of vehicles trying to break the land speed, some menacing Road Warrior vehicles, and a movie set with filmmakers shooting an alien monster movie. In the last episode, Lightning finally meets Mater’s sister, Mato, and discovers the source of Mater and Mato’s sibling rivalry.

The first season of CARS ON THE ROAD is a cute, enjoyable series of mini-adventures for the lovable Mater and his friend, Lightning McQueen. There are some scary moments having to do with giant mechanical dinosaurs, ghost cars, and the menacing Road Warrior cars. So, MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for younger children. However, CARS ON THE ROAD has a strong, positive worldview about sticking by friends and family. Season One also has a couple scenes of forgiveness.
