Kendall is an architect who specializes in restaurants. Kendall’s business is booming in the big city, and she’s hungry for bigger and better projects from more esteemed clients. After a successful opening, Kendall receives a call from one of the most successful restaurant owners in Seattle. She lands a project but only has a week to submit a proposal.
Kendall’s brother, Billy, meets her for dinner and tries to convince her to return to her childhood home, Mystic Bay, for the town’s annual Big Catch Festival. While she’s hesitant due to the amount of work she has to get done, she eventually agrees and hopes it will offer her inspiration for the new restaurant she’s designing.
Upon her arrival, Kendall talks with her father and learns he’s looking to sell his boat. Kendall doesn’t like the idea, because the boat has been handed down in the family for generations. However, she knows her father is stubborn and instead works on helping him find the right buyer; someone who won’t just use the boat for parts.
Kendall loves being home, but soon discovers that the small town has a newcomer named Zack. Kendall learns that Zack made an offer on her father’s boat and promised not to use it for parts. However, Kendall knows her father will need some convincing before he sells the boat to someone who has only been in Mystic Bay for a few days.
Kendall goes to Zack and agrees to help him win over her father and close a deal on the boat. However, Kendall, who has everything planned out and organized, realizes she can’t do everything at once.
However, even with the festival approaching, her anxiety over her father’s decision with the boat and the pressures from her new client, Kendall finds time to get to know Zack.
