ADDICTED

What You Need To Know:

ADDICTED is a melodrama about a female sex addict who has several flings before she comes to her senses. Zoe Reynard is married to a loving husband who dotes on her, but she’s bored with their sex life. In her job as a professional consultant for artists, Zoe meets a handsome painter and sculptor from Spain. Zoe and Quinton begin a tempestuous love affair, but soon, even Quinton isn’t enough for Zoe. So, she starts picking up men in bars, settling on a tough blue collar dude. Qunton has fallen hard for Zoe, however. Things change when he suddenly turns jealous and violent. Then, Zoe’s husband finds out about her cheating. Can Zoe recover from her addiction? Or, is it too late?

For most of its running time, ADDICTED promotes the female protagonist’s illicit hookups with other men. Then, it tacks on a pious ending with a message against sexual addiction and adultery. The filmmakers should have thought about doing this much earlier, in addition to toning down the movie’s depiction of lewd behavior. ADDICTED also contains some foul language, violence, explicit nudity, and brief drug use.
