What You Need To Know:
The revelation that Yvan has a potentially dangerous and hidden past is supposed to be a surprise, but his elusive and childlike behavior throughout the movie hinted at mental incompetence. In comparison, Odile simply seems naïve and desperate to attach herself to him. She is always running to the most immediate option, which is rarely very sensible, so the movie is depressing in its shortsighted humanism. Also, there is a scene of fornication between an adult and a teenager.
Content:

GENRE: War Drama
More Detail:
The revelation that Yvan has a potentially dangerous and hidden past is supposed to be a big surprise for the audience, but his elusive and childlike behavior throughout the movie already hinted at mental incompetence. In comparison, Odile simply seems naïve and desperate to attach herself to him. She is always running to the most immediately sensible option, which is rarely very sensible, so the movie is depressing in its shortsighted humanism. Also, Odile and Yvan fornicate somewhat graphically.
