What You Need To Know:

THE FORGE follows 19-year-old Isaiah, who’s addicted to video games, disrespectful to authority and lazy. Isaiah’s mom forces Isaiah to find a job, and he lands one with Moore Fitness. The company is run by a Christian man named Joshua who wants to mentor Isaiah so he can learn how to be a good man. Isaiah accepts Christ and is discipled by Joshua on how to live for Jesus. The Lord works in Isaiah’s heart and life. Isaah’s new relationship with Jesus helps him save Joshua’s company.

The first act of THE FORGE is a bit slow with too much static dialogue. However, once the jeopardy starts, it becomes more exciting and finishes with a powerful, entertaining, redemptive ending. THE FORGE has a strong Christian, biblical worldview. It does a beautiful job displaying the deep need for discipleship in the Church. It spurs Christian believers to disciple and mentor the next generation. The movie also shows how prayer changes hearts and has a clear presentation of the Gospel. THE FORGE will inspire the hearts of Christians to continue being fully committed to Christ.

Despite a slow start marred by static dialogue, THE FORGE becomes more exciting as the jeopardy kicks in and finishes with a powerful, entertaining ending that has a clear presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and promotes Christian, biblical values like sacrifice, prayer, forgiveness, and taking responsibility.

For example, the movie does a beautiful job displaying the deep need for discipleship in the Church. Through the journey of the main characters, the movie shows how prayer changes hearts and how becoming a man or woman of God takes commitment and determination under the instruction of more experienced Christians. THE FORGE has a clear Gospel presentation and Isaiah’s character arc centers on Him giving his life to God. As he makes decisions in his walk with the Lord, Isaiah continually says to himself, “Either you are Lord or you’re not.”

THE FORGE includes many talented actors. It has beautiful messages spurring believers to disciple and mentor the next generation. Under Joshua’s guidance, Isaiah learns about respect, being responsible with his commitments, how being devoted to Jesus takes sacrifice, the poisonous nature of anger, and how we need to pray to be able to forgive. In light of his absent father, Isaiah sees how God is a loving father and how Christians are not meant to walk alone.

THE FORGE has no foul language, crude jokes, or lewd content. One woman makes a comment about convincing her boss to come home with her, but it’s quickly revealed that her boss is her husband. No nudity is shown.

Overall, THE FORGE will inspire the hearts of Christians to continue being fully committed to Christ and to help raise up the next generation to love him as well.
