THE MIRACLE OF THE WIDOW starts in Hungary in 1944. A young Jewish girl smuggles her family’s artifact to America. Cut to Grace, a young teacher who is rebelling against her family’s faith. She complains when another teacher takes a class of students to a bakery, where they receive free bread with Bible verses on it. Her complaints about the verses result in her being fired. Grace is forced to take a job at this same bakery. The bakery is run by Ruth Zellor who seems to have a secret stash of flour because the flour never runs out. When Ruth takes sick, Grace has to run the bakery, and the question arrives whether Grace will inherit the blessing.

THE MIRACLE OF THE WIDOW has a very intriguing storyline. It clearly shows God’s Providence at work. The movie has deep emotional moments. The direction and acting are good. The music is a little excessive at points. Regrettably, the script is not as tight as it could be. Therefore, there’s some static dialogue and some plot holes. Otherwise, this is a very well made movie and well worth watching.
