Watch:

What You Need To Know:

The last two episodes of THE MANDALORIAN Season Three on Disney Plus feature the climactic battle between the Mandalorian people and the Imperial forces, led by the evil Moff Gideon. Din Djarin, Bo Katan and their allies reclaim their fallen, desolate home planet of Mandalore. They find, however, that a large Imperial Remnant has taken over the planet and developed almost indestructible armor. Worse, Moff Gideon has returned to lead them. He’s sworn vengeance against Din and his adopted son, Grogu. With nowhere to run, Din decides to settle his feud with Moff Gideon. Can the Mandalorians expel their Imperial adversaries from their homeland?

Chapters 23 and 24 of THE MANDALORIAN are an exciting book end to Din Djarin’s journey. The episodes feature amazing action, suspense and the triumph of good overcoming tyrannical evil. The lead characters exemplify teamwork, patriotism, working past one’s differences, and sacrifice. The episodes also feature a strong father-son relationship. However, there’s lots of strong action violence with two armies battling one another and heroes fighting the villain and his personal guards. So, MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for older children.

More Detail:

The last two episodes of THE MANDALORIAN Season Three on Disney Plus feature the climactic battle between the Mandalorian people and the Imperial forces led by the evil Moff Gideon, who wants to establish a new Galactic Empire. The last two episodes of THE MANDALORIAN Season Three tell a rousing climactic story of a people retaking their homeland from a tyrannical leader and his army, but there’s lot of action violence, so caution is advised for older children.

In Chapter 23, titled “The Spies,” Moff Gideon speaks to his spy on Coruscant from a remote planet. In a previous episode, Gideon broke out of his prison shuttle and went into hiding. With the help of his Imperial moles, Gideon plots his revenge against Din Djarin, his arch nemesis. The spy alerts him that Din and his allies plan to retake the planet Mandalore. Gideon seizes the opportunity to stage an ambush.

Meanwhile, on Nevarro, Din Djarin and Bo Katan reunite the different Mandalorian tribes from across the galaxy. Bo, who the heir to the kingdom of Mandalore, convinces her allies they can restore their desolated homeland to its former glory. The warriors rally behind her. As the Mandalorians gear up for the trip, Grogu pilots the rebuilt IG-12 assassin robot for fun. Despite the obvious danger of this robot, Din allows Grogu to keep the droid for self-defense.

The next day, Bo Katan, Din Djarin, Grogu, and the army arrive on the desolate surface of Mandalore. Just as our heroes scout the caverns, Imperial Stormtroopers stage an ambush. An intense firefight occurs. This time, these Stormtroopers wear Beskar-grade armor, the same durable armor the Mandalorians use. Bo, Din and the army retreat into the mines. However, Moff Gideon and his forces surround the warriors.

[SPOILERS FOLLOW] Gideon reveals his plans to the warriors. He’s created a secret Imperial base underneath Mandalore, reverse engineered their Beskar armor, and created a new class of nearly indestructible Stormtroopers. Moreover, he plans to steal Bo’s deadly Darksaber and slay her people once and for all. Paz Vizla, one of Din’s friends, stages a distraction and causes Gideon to retreat. Vizla fends off the Stormtroopers as Bo and her squad escape into the mines. The episode ends with a heartrending sacrifice.

In Chapter 24, titled “The Return,” Bo Katan regroups her soldiers and launches a counter-offensive against Moff Gideon’s Imperial Remnant. Meanwhile, Din and Grogu, still piloting the robot, get lost within the base. Gideon has spent three seasons hunting Grogu for his own benefit. Din puts his foot down and decides to defeat Gideon once and for all. The father and son duo stumble on a lab where Gideon keeps Force-enhanced clones of himself. In earlier episodes, Gideon had obtained samples of Grogu’s blood, which he’s used to make his clones. However, Din destroys the clones. Angered with losing all his work, Gideon attacks Din, and Gideon’s three red-clad Praetorian Guards join him. Still piloting the robot, Grogu enters the scene to help, but the three guards turn on him while Gideon tries to finish off Din.

Can Grogu and his adoptive father survive? Will the Mandalorians win back their homeland?

Chapters 23 and 24 of THE MANDALORIAN, “The Spies” and “The Return,” are an exciting book end to Season 3 and to Din Djarin and Grogu, Baby Yoda’s, journey. The episodes contain amazing action, suspense and the triumphant battle of good overcoming tyrannical evil. The lead characters exemplify the traits of teamwork, working past one’s differences, and sacrifice. At one point, Moff Gideon taunts Bo Katan, telling her that Mandalorians are weak when they lose their “trinkets,” but Bo replies, “Mandalorians are stronger together.” The two episodes also champion a strong father-son relationship as Din officially adopts Grogu. The last two episodes contain lots of intense action violence, however, as two armies battle one another, and as the three lead characters fight off the main villain and his three personal guards. So, MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for older children.
