More Detail:

“The Most Disappointed Man” focuses on William, Randall’s estranged biological father. A young adult William is convicted of a drug charge after the loss of his mother, girlfriend and son. The judge in charge of his case offers to reduce his sentence and get him help if he promises to quit using. Years later, William almost breaks his promise, but the arrival of Randall at his apartment prevents William from slipping back into his old habits. Young Randall is officially adopted by the Pearson family shortly after his first birthday. Grown up Randall takes Deja to visit her mom in prison. Meanwhile, Kevin continues to abuse pain medication and alcohol, causing his relationship with Sophie to deteriorate. Also, Kate and Toby decide to get their marriage license.

“The Most Disappointed Man” addresses the concept of taking responsibility for one’s choices. Though William experiences great loss, he realizes using drugs is irresponsible. Deja’s mom, however, refuses to take responsibility for her drug usage, claiming that life hasn’t been fair to her. Kevin also continues to be irresponsible with his substance abuse, leading to a deterioration of his personal relationships. Since “The Most Disappointed Man” contains mature content, especially various forms of substance abuse, extreme caution is advised.
