Like so many, I am devastated and heartbroken. My own girls pain and sorrow at this news cut deep. LA is mourning. I saw these words on my friend @sarahjakesroberts post and felt they would help many. #Repost @dranitaphillips ・・・ These are the moments that overwhelm and leave us with the worst kind of questions. Why them? Why this day? Why like this? There are no answers; certainly none that would ever satisfy our broken hearts. So, we are left grieving an unimaginable loss, jarred by an encounter with the impermanence of life, in a world that suddenly feels less safe. Now what ? _____ First, remember. Remember that our yet living energy and persistent faith still have power, so we harness that and send strong prayers to where the wound is deepest — the hearts of the families whose lives will never be the same. To Vanessa Bryant and their 3 daughters and to the loved ones of the other passengers. It matters . _____ Next, connect. Connect with your family, your friends, your online community….your people. Call, text, FaceTime. Send love and open yourself to deeply feel the love they send back to you. Let it wash over you and fill you. It matters . _____ Finally, feel. Feel whatever comes. Emotions aren’t permanent but they are real. Don’t expend precious energy fighting them off. Let them come when they come and pass when they pass. Painful feelings are an unavoidable part of life but I’m still grateful for life. Grateful for every moment of life. It matters . _____ #kobe
