What You Need To Know:

PITCH PERFECT is a musical comedy. Beca is a freshman at Barden University, where her father teaches. He urges her to join a club. Beca joins the all women’s A Capella team. The team is awkward and needs help, but the girls form a unity that helps them make the club better. Also, Beca decides to work for the school radio. There, she meets Jesse, who’s joined the men’s A Capella group. Beca isn’t allowed to have a relationship with someone in the men’s group. The team leaders says it will distract from the goal of winning a competition against the boys.

Despite some predictability, PITCH PERFECT is entertaining and has a clear plot. There’s a lot of singing and laughing. Also, the characters learn to work together, take risks, do what’s right, and persevere. However, there’s plenty of crude language. The story also has a lesbian character. Finally, PITCH OPERFECT has a Romantic worldview that encourages young people to follow their heart, not God’s Will. Therefore, MOVIEGUIDE® advises extreme caution.
