TANGERINE

What You Need To Know:

TANGERINE tells the story of a transgender prostitute, Sin-Dee Rella, who on Christmas Eve meets her best friend Alexandra, another transgender prostitute, at Donut Time in Hollywood. Alexandra informs Sin-Dee Rella that her boyfriend and pimp, Chester, has been cheating on her with a white female prostitute named Dinah. Outraged, Sin-Dee storms out of Donut Time to search the neighborhood for Chester and Dinah to confront them. After an extensive search, Sin-Dee finds Dinah and physically assaults, dragging her across town to search for Chester.

TANGERINE has no artistic merits. The plot, narrative, acting, and cinematography are simply terrible, dreadful and tacky. TANGERINE also promotes a Romantic, Anti-Christian, immoral, homosexual worldview. The transgender protagonist is presented and portrayed as a courageous and heroic figure, someone who should be honored. TANGERINE also contains abundant foul language and some graphic, explicit lewd content. It contains not only homosexuality and transgenderism, but also adultery, prostitution and revenge. It glorifies and elevates sexual immorality as an acceptable, moral, positive lifestyle. Media-wise viewers and viewers with ANY modicum of taste will want to avoid TANGERINE.

Content:

(RoRoRo, AbAbAb, HoHoHo, LLL, VV, SS, NNN, DD, MM) Very Romantic, Anti-Christian, immoral, homosexual worldview, with the entire movie telling the story of transgender prostitutes to promote the LGBT community; very strong foul language, with way more than 40 obscenities (essentially every scene contains obscenities), and a couple strong profanities; strong violence, with most of the movie the protagonist physically assaulting and dragging a prostitute across town; strong sexual content, with a scene depicting a man and a prostitute engaging in sex, another scene depicting a man performing oral sex on a transgender prostitute, and another scene depicting a man abusing himself; very strong nudity, including a female prostitute removes her skirt and underwear to display a part of her female genitalia and upper female and upper male nudity a prostitution scene in a motel showing women and men solely in their underwear; no alcohol use or drunkenness; the movie contains two scenes that show characters smoking what appears to be crack cocaine; and, strong miscellaneous immorality, with the entire narrative being about a transgender prostitute seeking revenge against the female prostitute woman her pimp boyfriend is cheating on her.

More Detail:

TANGERINE tells the story of a transgender prostitute who angrily and viciously searches through Hollywood for the pimp who broke her heart.

On Christmas Eve, Sin-Dee Rella, a transgender prostitute, who has recently completed a prison sentence, meets her best friend Alexandra, another transgender prostitute, at Donut Time in Hollywood. Alexandra informs Sin-Dee Rella that her boyfriend and pimp, Chester, has been cheating on her with a white female prostitute named Dinah. Outraged, Sin-Dee storms out of Donut Time to search the neighborhood for Chester and Dinah to confront them. After an extensive search, Sin-Dee finds Dinah and physically assaults her, then drags her across town to search for Chester.

TANGERINE has a Romantic, Anti-Christian, anti-biblical, homosexual worldview. The homosexual worldview is predominately seen in the transgender protagonist and main characters. The transgender protagonist is presented and portrayed as a courageous, heroic figure, someone who should be honored.

In addition, the narrative never denounces transgenderism and homosexuality, but rather encourages it as an alternative lifestyle. The movie communicates the idea that it is absolutely fine, especially in today’s society and culture, to express your sexuality however you want. The narrative contains not only homosexuality and transgenderism, but also adultery and prostitution.

Furthermore, it should also be acknowledged that, like the unfortunate dominant worldview, this movie contains no artistic and aesthetic merits. The plot, narrative, acting, and cinematography lack any artistic and aesthetic worth. These aspects are simply terrible.

Firstly, the plot and narrative contain no creative and profound substance that arouses anything in the viewing audience. The plot and narrative of TANGERINE is not complex, but rather simple, quite predictable, and forgettable. As a result, TANGERINE won’t make any significant impact in the world of cinema or storytelling.

Secondly, the acting should be described as tacky and unprofessional. The viewing audience immediately identifies the actors as amateur and inexperienced. The acting does not result in any significant and profound connection with the viewer. TANGERINE will most definitely not be nominated, let alone be awarded, in the categories of acting at any small or large movie awards.

Lastly, the cinematography is undoubtedly the one aspect of the movie that substantially and ultimately diminishes its artistic and aesthetic value. The cinematography is simply dreadful, unprofessional and cheap. There are certain scenes that are a little blurry and difficult to see. Other scenes contain an overwhelming amount of natural sunlight that also make those scenes difficult to watch. In the attempts to make TANGERINE a cinematic masterpiece and an aesthetically pleasing indie movie by adding flavor to the cinematography, the creators completely over did it and ruined their movie.

Overall, TANGERINE is a tasteless comedy drama with a Romantic, anti-Christian, anti-biblical, and homosexual worldview, which glorifies and elevates sexual immorality as an acceptable and moral lifestyle. Furthermore, TANGERINE contains a couple of graphic sex scenes and very heavy foul language. Media-wise viewers and viewers with a modicum of taste will want to avoid TANGERINE.
