Justin Bieber to Headline ‘Freedom Experience’ with Kari Jobe, Jaden Smith

By Movieguide® Staff

Pop singer Justin Bieber will headline “The Freedom Experience,” a service and music festival, in Los Angeles. Other big name artists including Tori Kelly, Kari Jobe, Jaden Smith, and Mavericks City Music’s Chandler Moore will join him.

The Freedom Experience will be the culmination of the 1DayLA event, which is bringing volunteers throughout Southern California to serve the county of Los Angeles for numerous days prior to the live concert.

According to the 1DayLA website:

1DayLA is mobilizing 20,000 volunteers from across Southern California to serve the county of Los Angeles from July 18-24, culminating in The Freedom Experience at the brand new SoFi Stadium on July 24.

The unprecedented movement will unite and offer communities across Los Angeles, California hope and help by organizing city beautification projects, back-to-school events, free medical clinics, homeless assistance, and aid distribution.

We are asking the bold question, “What can love do?”

Billboard reports that Bieber was inspired to join the 1DayLA movement “because of his strong and long-held belief that giving of ourselves in service to others is one of the most important things we can do. Bieber is committed to the powerful idea that a movement for change can start with individuals helping one another and their community.”

“So excited to join @1DayLA & The Freedom Experience with @justinbieber at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles ‪on July 24th‬!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼,” Jobe said. “The unprecedented movement will unite 20,000 team members and offer communities across Los Angeles, California hope and help by organizing city beautification projects, back to school events, free medical clinics, homeless assistance, and aid distribution.”

“We believe that love can change a city, inspire a nation, and shift the national conversation from what divides us, to what brings us all together,” according to 1dayla.com.

Dominic Russo of 1DayLA said, “1DayLA and The Freedom Experience live concert event showcase the power and beauty of a city coming together. In the wake of a sustained season of crisis and isolation, people desperately need authentic expressions of hope, help, and love. This will be an unforgettable opportunity to celebrate and dynamically impact communities across Los Angeles.”

Though Smith, the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith, does not profess to be a Christian, he has collaborated with Bieber in the past. Smith has also serving the Los Angeles homeless community through various endeavors in recent months.

In May, Smith turned his food truck into a restaurant to give free food to homeless people, and earlier this summer, he brought some personal hygiene products to Skid Row to share with the community.
