What You Need To Know:
UINVERSE DESIGNED has very strong Biblical and Christian worldview arguing that God made the universe. It goes to great lengths to show why Genesis is true. It also argues that Jesus was a real man who rose from the dead. It very much spells it out throughout the documentary: Jesus is the truth, the cause, the designer, the life, the Word, and God. Even when it raises other worldviews as counterarguments to their claims, they still disprove those worldviews. The only element that could be considered minor and questionable is the footage showcasing the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Otherwise, it is a fulfilling and thought-provoking watch. MOVIEGUIDE® advises light caution for young children and sensitive adults.

More Detail:
The documentary is incredibly well-made and well-directed, with a great supporting cast of highly knowledgeable experts giving reliable information. This cast consists of every profession from biologists to historians. They are all very well-versed in their fields and explain complex, difficult-to-understand subjects in a way that everyone can follow. However, it is essential to note that the documentary includes footage from the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. While it does serve a purpose in helping prove that people are willing to die for what they believe, it could’ve been a comment said as an example instead of including violent footage.
The documentary begins by giving the audience a brief sense of the universe’s vastness. In fact, it is so vast that it takes unique measurements to traverse. For example, while the moon is around 240,000 miles away from Earth, it only takes light 1.3 seconds to traverse that distance. Meanwhile, the nearest star is a little over four light-years away, meaning it would take light four years to travel that distance while traveling at speeds of 186,000 miles per second. Not only is it vast, but it is highly complex. This fundamental breakdown leads to many questions that people have yet to answer. Why is there something instead of nothing? What is reality? What is the truth when it comes to creation?
These questions lead us to the early 1900s, when people thought the universe was eternal, meaning it always was and always will be. Einstein set out to prove this. However, his calculation proved the opposite. Einstein proved that the universe had a starting point. In fact, space, time, and matter all had a starting point. It asked the question. If time, matter, and space have a beginning, then what is responsible for making it start?
They also point out how complicated and finely tuned the universe is. Many specific conditions must be present for life as we know it to exist, and Earth is the only option. While some people believe that there may be a possibility for life elsewhere, there isn’t a single known planet that would be able to support life like Earth. It’s all just way too specific to be happenstance. Again, it keeps asking questions. You have better odds of winning the lottery than of having a planet similar to Earth, how?
While people believe they have answers to these questions, they really do not. The documentary raises the idea of multiverses but shows that they would also need a beginning. It talks about Darwinism and why people believe evolution is a perfect answer but fail to see that Darwinism has no explanation for how life started. In the pursuit of answers, there is nothing the defenders of these theories can hold onto to prove that God does not exist. Each of those theories conveniently ignores aspects that point to God’s role in creating the universe.
