Great American Family announced that it has begun production on its first project slated for Great American Christmas 2026: LOVE UNDER THE CHRISTMAS TREE.
“As we bring LOVE UNDER THE CHRISTMAS TREE to audiences, we continue to seek and nurture stories that make Christmas so meaningful,” said Kaitlyn Haubrich, Chief of Staff & CBO of Great American Media. “This film is a reflection of faith, love, and enduring traditions that bring families together at Christmas – stories that distinguish Great American Christmas from other holiday movie collections.”
The movie will follow a woman named Abby who inherits her Aunt Helen’s Christmas tree farm under the stipulation that she works the grounds for 14 days to have a true understanding of the heartbeat of the company. While working the farm for two weeks would not be Abby’s first choice, when she gets there, she reconnects with the farm’s caretaker, Ethan, who was her childhood best friend and learns the true meaning of Christmas.

Since launching in 2021, Great American Christmas has grown to become one of Great American Family’s most popular offerings and now begins in mid-October, offering new movies every week through the new year.
As Great American Family begins work on next year’s celebration, this year’s Great American Christmas is in full swing. This year’s event will offer nearly twenty new Christmas movies in total, all of which incorporate faith and family values into their stories.
“As we celebrate the fifth year of Great American Christmas, it is a reminder of just how special this tradition has become. Our storytelling is rooted in faith, family, and the true spirit of the season – Christmas as it is meant to be,” said Great American Media president and CEO Bill Abbott. “Each year, we strive to create films that not only warm hearts but also bring people together in joy and reflection. Reaching this milestone reinforces our commitment to offering viewers stories that honor timeless values and the wonder of Christmas.”
As Great American Christmas has become more popular year after year, it has been able to attract stars from across the industry who want to center their careers around stories that matter. This year’s lineup includes Candace Cameron Bure, Mario Lopez, Danica McKellar, Jill Wagner, and Jesse Hutch.
One of the most exciting projects to release this year was TIMELESS TIDINGS OF JOY, which saw Candace Cameron Bure onscreen with her daughter Natasha in a time traveling Christmas story.
“In a world of technology, TIMELESS TIDINGS OF JOY harkens back to a simpler time and the core values passed to us by our parents and grandparents. It reminds us that the best gifts we receive, are the ones we freely give away,” Bure said.
While the end of this year’s Great American Christmas is still weeks away, it is fun to know that next year’s celebration is already in the works as production on LOVE UNDER THE CHRISTMAS TREE begins.
