Streaming on VidAngel, the episode opens with Jesus preparing to give the Sermon on the Mount, with Jesus instructing the disciples to make sure the event goes smoothly. He sends Simon Peter, Andrew, James, and John to fish for food while he prepares his sermon. Peter and the others throw rocks to see who gets to go back and listen to Jesus while the other two must remain and fish.

Meanwhile, the Romans are on the move as they prepare to bring Jesus in for questions. Atticus, a Roman spy, meets with Quintus, the regional Legislator. Atticus informs him of the movements of Jesus along with the different miracles he personally witnessed Jesus do. This leads Quintus to pair him with Gaius, originally Matthew’s personal guard, to bring Jesus before him.

Meanwhile, Peter and Andrew have a heart to heart talk as Peter tries to console his brother, Andrew, who’s fearful that John the Baptist’s arrest will also happen to Jesus. Peter reassures his brother that it’s impossible since Jesus is the Messiah, and that they should continue with the job they were tasked to do, fish. As Andrew turns to get another net ready Peter looks up to see Roman soldiers headed to arrest Jesus.

Jesus goes willingly with Gaius to be questioned by Quintus in the city. After Jesus leaves, the disciples lose control as they argue about how to respond. While following Gaius and Jesus to the place where Jesus was taken, Andrew and Philip encounter two old friends. Meanwhile, two Jewish Pharisees seek information about Jesus’ miracles to use them against him.

“Reckoning” is about the opposition that’s starting to face Jesus and those who follow him. It shows the support that those who want to bring down Jesus are gaining. As Jesus’ fame continues to grow, the interest of lesser men also grows. The episode superbly depicts the disparity between what man thinks versus how Jesus thinks and sees things.
