WHEN CALLS THE HEART Announces Season 9 Start Date

By Movieguide® Staff

WHEN CALLS THE HEART has a season 9 premiere date! The latest installment of the show will air Sunday, March 6, at 8 p.m. EST.

Fans are also rejoicing because the season will have 12 episodes.

The Epiphany Prize® for Most Inspiring TV Program-winning show went up from 10 episodes during season eight.

The latest season will be full of “romance, drama, and friendship,” Hallmark promises.

In a statement given to Entertainment Tonight, we learn that “Hope Valley is in a state of growth, with the foundry’s progress and the evolution of key relationships. The Mayoral race has the town buzzing with a few members of the town running against one another. Elizabeth and Lucas focus on their relationship beyond courtship, and as she gets to know Lucas better, she learns about his past which gives Elizabeth pause about their future.”

In addition to everyone’s favorite characters, there will also be some new faces in Hope Valley, like Mei Suo, played by actress Amanda Wong. She described her character as “strong and intelligent, loves animals and is super passionate.”

Movieguide® previously reported:

According to [producer Brad] Bird, Hallmark’s most-watched show posted its most successful season yet, with Season 8 reaching an average of 3.3 million viewers per episode.

Although Season 8 left many fans wondering what would be next, Krakow is excited to explore new territory in the relationships of Hope Valley.

“We couldn’t be more excited to begin shooting season 9 of When Calls the Heart,” Krakow told ET in a previous interview. “It’s a wonderful feeling being back on set with the amazing cast and crew. There are a lot more stories to tell this season and thanks to the talented writing staff, there will be more drama, adventure, and romance and we can’t wait for our fans to see what Hope Valley has in store.”
