HARMONY FROM THE HEART Star Signs Massive GAC Family Deal

By Movieguide® Staff

HARMONY FROM THE HEART star Jessica Lowndes signed a four-movie deal with GAC Family in which she will write, produce, direct, and star in movies.

Lowndes wrote and produced HARMONY FROM THE HEART, which also stars Jesse Metcalfe.

The new movie blends, “My two loves of life: my love of love and my love of music,” Lowndes said. “A couple of years ago, I tested for pilots and wound up not booking them so I forced myself to write every night for an hour: and this was the first script that I ever wrote. It was the first time that I wrote ‘The End’ in a document. When I was doing my research, I was absolutely blown away by the capacity music has to heal people. I wanted to shed some light on this incredible form of therapy so I wrote a movie about it and I tied in romance.

“It is amazing how music can take you back to a certain time in your life, and make you feel so many things that you cannot express. It can just take one song to trigger a person’s memory and bring them back. I wanted to tell a beautiful love story but I wanted there to be a lot of depth and a backstory behind it, and I couldn’t be more proud of this,” Lowndes said.

According to the Movieguide® review:

HARMONY FROM THE HEART is a romance airing on the GAC Family Channel. A grad student named Violet wants a career as a music therapist. To graduate, Violet’s professor asks her to help rehabilitate her brother’s speech within two weeks, just in time for Valentine’s Day. When Violet arrives, her patient’s doctor is skeptical of her treatment methods and also happens to be the patient’s grandson. Will Violet be able to make her Valentine’s Day deadline and graduate on time? Or will she find more than just a degree in the process?

HARMONY FROM THE HEART is entertaining and generates several genuine laughs. Also, the two lead actors have good chemistry. HARMONY FROM THE HEART has a strong Romantic worldview. For example, characters talk about soulmates, love and the beauty of music. Also, there’s a brief superstitious mention of a “love chakra.” However, one character stresses the value of being intentional, rather than just relying on destiny, when it comes to finding a suitable mate. Also, HARMONY FROM THE HEART promotes taking care of one’s family and talks about celebrating a special wedding anniversary.

Lowndes says the move is part of an uplifting part of her personal and professional life.

“This chapter is called ‘joy’ for a lot of different reasons. They have been a lot of things that have come into my life and they have brought me a lot of joy,” Lowndes said.

Lowndes is just the most recent of several actors and actresses who have left the Hallmark Channel to appear on the more family-oriented GAC Family network including Jen Lilley and Danica McKeller.

GAC Family’s motto is “Stories well told,” and CEO Bill Abbott wants each of the movies to showcase wholesome material safe for families without compromising quality.

Lowndes previously appeared in the GAC Family Christmas movie ANGEL FALLS CHRISTMAS with Chad Michael Murray.
