Movieguide® Grace Prize® nominee Zachary Levi announced the release of his debut book, Radical Love: Learning to Accept Yourself and Others

The book, published by Harper Horizon, will be available for purchase on June 28.

In Radical Love, Levi will tell the story of how he’s struggled ”with a lifetime of historically crippling anxiety and depression, that stems from childhood trauma and the voices in his head that told him he would never be good enough.”

He also writes about how he hit “rock bottom,” ending up in a therapy center where he learned to address his problems head-on.

“My hope in sharing my story is that people who have experienced similar traumas in their own lives feel seen, heard, and loved; and know they are not alone in the ongoing battles they fight within their own hearts and minds,” Levi said in a statement about the book.

“There is no magic cure for these things, as much as I wish there was one,” he continued. “It is a journey full of ups and downs, victories and challenges, but most importantly toward loving and valuing yourself and others as we are intended: entirely and unconditionally.

Movieguide® previously reported on Levi’s role in the Movieguide® Award-nominated movie, AMERICAN UNDERDOG:

Actor Zachary Levi, known for his role in 2019’s SHAZAM! and Disney’s TANGLED, teamed up with the Erwin brothers in his latest role as NFL MVP Kurt Warner in AMERICAN UNDERDOG.

Levi said that he connected with Warner’s story of faith, perseverance, and sacrifice on more than one level.

“We definitely have a lot of crossover and how we came up in life and the type of Christian background and values,” Levi told Movieguide®. “But even outside of the spiritual faith aspect, there’s so much faith involved in this movie.

“Brenda’s faith in Kurt was a huge part of him believing in himself even more and being able to go and attain those dreams,” Levi explained. “The faith that her son Zach had in Kurt, and the faith that Kurt and Brenda had in Zach, to keep growing and become the young man that he has become—who’s just a ray of sunshine in this world—all of that stuff, to me, is the inspiration behind all of that. The hope that it builds, that makes a movie like this really, really worth doing.”
